Unlucky? That’s What You Think.

This just in:

Thursday, November 13th – Umphrey’s McGee at Canopy

and

Saturday, December 13th – The Hood Internet at Canopy.

The 13th of the month isn’t looking so spooky anymore, now is it?

Shimmying Up To: High Places

We chatted to the duo about Daytrotter, their album release and chocolatey legs. Enjoy!

The World Of Lotus

Last week wasn’t exactly our country’s shining moment. The jobs, the debate, the economy, the french braid — it all left Americans bummed out, questioning what life is worth living or how they can afford their Starbucks anymore.

While the rest of us frowned, some people smiled, and not just because of a chemical substance inside their body. That’s right — when it rains, it pours, but a little rainbow by the name of a Phish Reunion pulled past the Wall Street muck to bring joy to prog, jam, instrumental and rock-loving fans across the US of A. And, if you’re a fan of any of those genres, clear your calendar of homework plans for tomorrow night, since you’d be mistaken to spend your evening anywhere but Canopy Club.

Lotus, a Pennsylvania-based band that plays electronic-infused jam rock will be performing on the same bill as hometown rockers Zmick, giving you a two-for-one when it come to shimmying along to their danceable tunes. Because, hey, if you can’t beat the economy blues, you can at least try to boogie them away.

Don’t miss tomorrow night’s 9pm show. Tickets are $10 in advance.

Balls, Rabbits and Notations

Pygmalion might seem like a distant thought to some of you, but here at the OverUC household, it’s all that’s been in thoughts tonight. After tinkering with iMovie for a little while hours and popping our movie-making cherry (it was awkward and frustrating but totally worth it), we can finally present In The Aeroplane, Over UC’s first episode in the video interview series, “Shimmying Up To,” during which we — woah woah, how did you guess? that’s incredible! — shimmy up to some of our favorit-o musicians.

Now, formally presenting, Shimmying Up To: Oxford Collapse. Hope ya dig!

Headlights, Camera, Action.

Check it out — CNN loves Headlights just as much as we do!

(Yet another reason to not watch Fox News.)

Better Late Than Never.

I may or may not have lost a memory card with a few videos on it, but here are some views into last weekend’s festival:
